I love the beauty of the words of Jane Austen and that is why I bought this book. I thought it would be an interesting option and updates on Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. What a disappointment. The story was slow, tedious, and I just could not put it down. The characters are simple, there are those who never developed, especially Betty, Annie, and Miranda. The dialogue was not funny or engaging. Overall it was a sad and disappointing book. I would not recommend it to all my friends. Rating: 1 / 5

I loved this book. It allows you an easy way to get to know and care about the characters. How can you read it, felt their fears and hopes of applause that you give the impression that you really long for a ride, they navigated streets intertwining of their lives. Rating: 5 / 5

Two sisters and their mother 75 years old transition from Central Park West in a cottage in Westport after their father left their mother because of a younger woman. The father takes the house and the mother and the girls try to up the pieces of her life in a district. Annie is a quiet 52 years old librarian who meets a famous (divorce), a writer while reading the book, and they embark on an affair. Miranda, 49, is a flamboyant literary agent, whose career imploded with the public revelation that the authors have their vague memories. Miranda, whose lives had been overturned, in fact capsized in rough waters in a small boat and drowned when she is miraculously saved by a young Adonis, an actor who has a favorite little boy. Miranda and fall in love with Adonis, and Miranda is deeply concerned about his little boy to touch. This material is promising, and Cathleen Schine tells it with an acid wit. The scenes of Betty, the woman scorned and her husband are invaluable, especially the first few pages. The other woman, Felicity, is a finely drawn picture of a conniver. Machinery sent skewers hunting status hostess who deigned to Miranda, when his career is no longer in coming. Unfortunately I did not like this book, even though all the material promising. Perhaps it is because love stories of these 50 women have something so great wish fulfillment for the younger readers. I have no sympathy for the world of fantasy, Cathleen Schine celebrities available to ensure a decided excellent 60, having an affair with a woman of 52 years, and where one years 49 years meets a handsome young man in circumstances that are the better a Paperback. Shall I say that in the real world, the greatest author to his height and some 20 years, Adonis, and the actors do not usually enjoy a girlfriend at the age of her mother to choose? Another anomaly: The plot revolves around the father co-opt, co-op apartment, while the mother in a desperate situation. It makes no sense. While the maximum torque Weissman in New York City have two houses, one in the city and the other in the leafy suburbs. The man lives in a home and wife in another and the separation agreement finalizing the agreement. But it makes little sense. I’m too smart for this novel, and I suppose if you’ve read this far, so that you are. Rating: 3 / 5

The three Weissman of Westport is a fun to read. It is hard to update of Jane Austen. As a final criticism, I was very surprised to see reviewed on the front page of the book review of The New York Times. It is modern and easy to say, especially if you live in Manhattan and are of a certain age. I must admit, sometimes I felt it was only one class better chick lit and just a fun book Escape. Visually I could see Nancy Meyer casting that his usual beautiul decor, decorating houses Wesport, Manhattan apartment of Betty and Josie, or even working with Nora Ephron and write a script that very spiritual. There must be a difficult thing for an author to start on another lover who work for the authors. In this case, Cathleen Schine is trying to “Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility” rewrite in modern terms. As a fan of Jane Austen, and a reader most prolific writers of modern fiction, in my opinion, the only modern writer whom I read said, the comedy of manners with a lot more nuances Austen is the late great Laurie Colwin. Oh, and sometimes plays Austen Elinor Lipman-like writing. Cathleen Schine, but probably should not have tried to echo Austen. His book “The Three Weissman of Westport is a good book. Not a great reading, but a good book. The characters are interesting and beautiful action, but is in a corner with a cardboard machinery to make the characters and the plot echoes – in more relaxed view – Jane tries Austen.La minutes a writer, take off from another writer, will open to criticism justifiées.La Surprising Schine’s Discussion Paper on the cover of the NYT Sunday Book Section was. Usually this is the spot for a book ” important “reserved. Usually something deadly boring, but” important “nonetheless. Schine book does not deserve this place and I think the places around her in a situation where nothing less than perfection is for the reader who expected more from livre.Quoi In any case, disappointing the book is a good read. almost better to wait until the trade paper edition, but.
