I have not finished this book, but I am an avid reader and Terri Blackstock is like his other books, very suspensful and leave you only want to read. Which reminds me, I need to come down here, this book is waiting for you. Rating: 5 / 5
Blackstock creates a well-layered plot and tension animated character. Unfortunately, it often repeats phrases which initially descriptive, he had to look away to avoid laughing, become repetitive. I have not counted how many times this type of expression occurred in the book, but it was frequent. The repetition of descriptive phrases can be written predictable and frankly boring. The result is a “flat” story on character development. These are missed opportunities to add depth and sens.Elle does not fully develop scenes, either. It certainly could with his inventive plot! I was disappointed with the conflict that had built since the first sentence of the book was not the suspense it deserves. A fight with the protagonist could be exciting. Unfortunately, it does not progress to this stage, but becomes almost ennuyeux.Lorsque Gilbert Morris’ “Dani Ross Mystery” series are not conventional (avoiding the first book), they are much better read than the storm in the South. Well, I did not think was possible, but Terri Blackstock has done out of his previous book, Cape Refuge. This second series will hold your interest from the first few pages-uns.Lorsque the Chief of Police of Cape Refuge, Matthew Cade, is expected to divert traffic around a fallen power line in the middle of a storm his day did not end as he wishes. With almost constant lightning and wind and rain that umbrellas are useless down so hard it makes its way cautiously through the rain battante.Comme he navigates traffic, he noticed a man standing on the opposite side of the road, d ‘being splashed by passing cars. He wondered why the man did not budge. When cars do not clear the way for him, Cade decided to pass the car ahead. Cautiously, he released in the north-south corridor with traffic coming at him, fortunately, they were fired to make room. As he passes the car, he tries to see who is driving when he turns his attention to the road, it is too late to react, the man on the steps of pavement on the road – in front of the car Cade “After the impact Cade rushes beside the man, an ambulance was called and the man was taken to hospital where he died later. The autopsy revealed that the man had a gunshot wound. However, this does not stop Cade from blaming himself for the death of the man. One day after the accident, Cade turns up missing! Has he disappeared to lick his wounds, or something very sinister happened to him? Sadie Morgan and Jonathon adopted daughter is having difficulty adjusting to school. This book should come with a warning – “Do not pick up unless you can read cover to the” Revised by Katharine L. Warning: If you are a fan of Blackstock, please do not blast me for this review, I am too! But this book made me so frustrated that I had to force myself to finish it. Blair has not become more friendly since the first book and it is a problem because it is the main character. Indeed: there are no sympathetic characters in this book. This book seems to be driven plot that the characters are forced to commit any action if it appears in nature or not. I do not understand why Owen sisters live, even in Cape Refuge, everyone in town is mean and aristocrat. All the cops or agent in the book is a fool. Morgan is so passive, she spends most of his time either unaware of what is happening around her and sobbed. Blair is so aggressive, it is actually a woman that only God could love (hey, I have days like that too, but Blair seems to be stuck in a rut). It tramples on everyone and they yield to it, even when it makes no sense. I like the idea of Hanover House and Cape Refuge, but I’m not going to finish this series. I can not. Too many improbabilities and the power of Jesus’ message was lost. That said, I loved Newpoint 911, Sun Coast Chronicles, and many other books Blackstock, but this series is not worth your time. Rating: 2 / 5
The first book was a bit slow to start I think especially to introduce the characters. I liked the second book better because the first page, you entered history. I could not go to bed until I finished the last page. I can not wait for the next book in the series comes out which hopefully will not be too long. Rating: 5 / 5
