1) Lucky Alice Seabold / 2) Little, Brown & Company, 2002, 272 pages3) Fiction Lucky a book of fiction with a strong message behind it. The book is set in the present tense in the city of Syracuse at Syracuse University. Alice, the main character, and who tells the story in first person, completing his first year in college. On her last day there, she returned to the house of a friend’s house and walks in the park, alone, then raped. After brutally raped, she returned to her dormitory, where he is then transported to the hospital and then they reported rapes. Then the book takes its course through spring and then back to Syracuse. After her return, she has another meeting with her rapist. It is then taken when the book goes through the whole procès.J I really enjoyed reading this book, it was very interesting how it began. It starts very well kept until the trial began my attention the book, then he took a fall. The same thing kept Happing again and again and again. I pushed my way through the whole book and I was very pleased. If I had someone say one thing about this book, he would train in the middle of reading but, after all, is one satisfait.Note: 5.3
As someone who enjoys “The Lovely Bones” (until the end, what me more than artifice, art), I was very disappointed by the memory of Mrs. Sebold. As “The Lovely Bones,” the beginning of “Lucky” begins strong, says the events are exciting and well told, and we enter into the details of the cooling of the story because he almost clinical perspective. However, the rest of the story is much less attractive. For the most part, “Lucky” struck me as false a statement, awkward, and sometimes an event that treat Sebold yet again shot and emotionally. We said a series of episodes from the life Sebold, some of which are relevant for rape, others that seem thrown for no apparent reason other than they were in his head in any way associated with rape. Unfortunately, Sebold communicate almost exclusively on us, the logical connections between events, only rarely shows us the emotional connections and especially on emotional reactions to. In short, I felt cheated by the lack of emotional commitment Sebold with his ordeal. The fact that they ended up on heroin use and a number of individual emotions serial sex partners, I wonder how close she was in a position to the last section of the short epilogue. “Obviously, in each she was still with PTSD, which was, in my view, where the memory should have started. Everyone’s interest, not only other women who were raped or even if you have a traumatic event (witnessed the death of a loved one , the horror of war is): How they came to their former self-respect and confidence to be able to turn back to this traumatic experience and use it not only as the subject of a treatise, but as the essence of a bestselling novel? On end I was asked if Sebold never recovered impact of his viol.Peut, that I remained with this question, because Sebold has killed irritating self-absorption could be no sympathy for them because I am both a central “character” and the author and narrative. Instead, take the fear, panic, loneliness, alienation from others, they must feel during and after the attack, most of the time we hear Sebold’s “Author” speech and sanitation each experiment. Ironically, one could conclude that in his own life Sebold has failed in its role as a loving daughter, a compassionate friend and lover carefully because in the brief that we see the implementation of a virtual obsession, predictable or mechanical control over all its relations. Take his desperate need for friendship Lila after the rape. When Lila possibly “shock” is Sebold takes care to describe how she was scolded publicly. Where private grief for the loss of his closest friend? Actually, the purple Sebold is out of the “clone” or, as proposed, Sebold his doppelganger? Sebold It can only be a reflection describe Lila is (literally: Lila is on the bed Sebold’s), it would be shocking if not for the fact that Sebold completely unaware that they are abusing a real person to the effect seems raped literary. Additionally, with the exception of the inclusion of his poem “Conviction,” which is the emotional catharsis as a literary exercise (simple, but not convincingly dressed) was Sebold much more convincing if they were directly from his diaries (which they often mentioned), cited to show us the true expression of sadness, loneliness, anger, depression in all its rawness without intermédiaire.En ultimately, like any fictional story, a memory preserved the qualities of a good story should have said only understand what we need to know in order to show instead of saying, and most importantly, it allows the reader to experience something, felt and learned “by” the author, and not by “the author. Unfortunately, the memories of Mrs. Sebold failed , to convince me that it has lost more than her virginity that night in the tunnel. Rating: 5.2
The story was a good, strong story, but the reading was so Sloooow. She writes very well, but to me it seems so slow. Perhaps she needed more development and interaction with the characters. Rating: 5.2
I am very surprised that this book has such good ratings! I was really excited to read it, to see that grammar and spelling, fill this book so bad that I could not even take to read it. If errors do not interfere then go ahead and choose this solution, but if you have a book that does not distract you want to read because of errors, so I recommend you search on. Rating: 5.1
