After calling the willingness to embrace the Father and the Son, but still ignore the Holy Spirit, I was so eager to see this book. Unfortunately, it covers the predictable presence of the Holy Spirit and good, but Chan makes certain weaknesses: a. He has completely failed, apparently for fear of addressing any controversial issue to discuss the charisms. We all know the “chosen” status of the ordinary churches, and there are many pastors who believe that this weakness has become, what God wanted the church is the result of the elimination of the gifts that were (such as “Chan presented the mere mention of 1 Corinthians 14) that is given to strengthening the church. b. He goes beyond the old pastor safe statement that Jesus “welcomed” (page 125), the widow gave her two cents. In fact, this interpretation was adopted to to assist with stewardship drives, and even a cursory reading of history shows that Jesus might note condemning the temple to raise money from the poor (you) the contrast with the takeover rich decorations of the temple. In short, if you know nothing about the workings of the mind or of John’s promises, this book is a good start. But if you want to contribute to the disppointing your church peobably what is God to create and display the action of fire in the data model will, this book end. Rating: 2 / 5
Francis Chan clearly has a deep experience of the power of the Holy Spirit and wisdom in his life and ministry. He communicates well. Nevertheless, his book is something missing. Like most evangelicals, he threw the two books of the Bible that God is pleased about the nature and opportunities to teach the Holy Spirit. In a real Bible (and not) a shortened version, the knowledge of the Holy Spirit in the middle of the sixth chapter of the wisdom gained through chapter nine, Jesus Sirach, Chapters one through four. While some theologians argue that these writers are simply a personification of wisdom rent, can not these arguments are valid, the control, especially when we learn that “the wisdom of the same Holy Spirit, now and forever … In every generation , goes the wisdom in the holy souls, so that they show close friends of God, the Lord, and give them the opportunity to make his thoughts and ideas. The Lord God loves no one more than the man or woman who lives with wisdom. “There are many, many others provided such evidence to the Holy Spirit as the wisdom in the books above and also in Proverbs 8, and Baruch 3:9 through 4:4. I was pleased to see what I consider a request for sensitive handling of the Holy Spirit. But after reading the book, I think, that he never speak in tongues to speak, because he did not “tags” put on experiences. The problem is that you can not assemble a book about the Holy Spirit, without which many verses about the language under discussion. May secessionist claim all day that have set languages, but unfortunately never writing to get it back on. The font that is used is in the same verse that says that the knowledge will be abolished. Thus, unless someone wants to argue that knowledge was (and this argument, he may have stopped in itself) exists, there are no other biblical arguments. I would not stand on tradition, or other writings outside the Bible.Avec everything that is said, I can not recommend this book for everyone as a mere study of the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 1, 2, 8, 9, 10 and 19, 1 Corinthians . Chapter 12-14, Luke 11, John chapter 14-16, Luke 24, Ephesians 5, also show that the language of the Age of churches and church dispensation, and is a unique and separate hi. Rating: 1 / 5
I read this book for several weeks and included it on our coffee table SA My husband has several times, then put him down. I asked him what he thought and he said he could not see what he does not really agree, but as Chan wrote things is not the way he would say. I do not know what to think about it, so I finally sat down with him today. Some people I know, Crazy Love, love, based on their enjoyment of this book, I asked him ci.Chan is a pastor in Southern California. I grew up in that. Cal. If one of my friends discussing lukewarm Christians against Chan in his book “Crazy Love me, as I later where Khan lives. This does not shape his vision of faith and what it means to live as a Christian. To the extent. Cal. , Let people go to church or not. This is not a cultural thinking, as we all know in the south – where everyone goes to church and there are many / black and gray! But Chan could not understand how a Pastor also. Cal. And this view when he wrote this book as well – life is very black and white. It is an essential part of how he writes – his writing style. There were a few things that are unpleasant to me about this book – I was not sure what to think. The first is that Chan said in this book that a Christian can not find a balance between the extremes. Sometimes I think it is. And I was not sure what I’ve been thinking about him says that the Holy Spirit is a person. Really? It runs through what we know about the Holy Spirit, and I’m not sure I entirely agree with his interpretation. He said a few things (like the Holy Spirit is a person) that I have never in my years of attending church and studying the Bible and books lecture.En end of one account, I felt uncomfortable and not at peace when I finished — not because I did not hear what he had to say – because I’m not sure, I am agreement with what he said.
