One of the best things about writing is that Bell thought about issues that matter in a manner that is not preachy. This book is no exception. He has had a great setup in the liberal idea of a judge of the Supreme Court suddenly changed his life from God. What he will do all men have made the political calculation? Block by James Scott Bell is the story of Millicent Hollander, a judge of the Supreme Court, known as an atheist and liberal vote on the court. When she finds her life suddenly to a radical, is forcing them to evaluate their lack of faith and meet again, she believes everything in. This was the first book I read about Bell and it seems a like Randy Singer lite. There is less emphasis on the rule of law and characterizations, and more on the table. Very well written, and I appreciate how Bell chance to not only be used Millie but others believe. But the change of heart, Millie seemed a bit forced, especially his decision at the end of the book. She was also a bit like it was an introduction to the beginning of a series (maybe I’m wrong, but as it was). Bell has a good job talking about Jesus and the Bible without preaching. This was certainly a pleasant read, and I look forward to further work by Bell, but if his other books are too similar, I could put it into a formula. Rating: 4 / 5
