I made it for about half of the book, and there was little inspiration in the stories. If you spend half the book written in Spanish, followed by a translation into English, you can survive the story right around. Maybe people will find familiar with the Tarahumara and their culture, the book useful, but not every runner, too. Rating: 1 / 5
Ok, I’m not a runner, and I hate any kind of shoes or socks, stuck between my toes. But I love a good story. I am fascinated by the mechanics of the body. And read all kinds of travel literature, memoirs of sports and popular science. I wanted to love this book. But I could not keep up. I read a little and had always down.Je waited for the runner to the equivalent of “Eat, Pray, Love”. But it was too disjointed. I started this book very excited because I had heard good things. The style of the author turned me off faster than any other book I read. The Over-the-top description and metaphors not annoyed me. Rating: 2 / 5
