As a fan of the series, I was happy but not happy about this chapter in the books. Some political orders went a bit too long, and the end was not mindblowing. However, I’m going to buy the next book, which was not terribly Rating: 3 / 5

I liked the idea of this (as I normally Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, the variation is what it is). I was struggling a bit when I realized that the main character was simply a variation of Honor Harrington again like a robot male – a bit like the protagonist of the Troll Armageddon Honor Harrington was back in time – but I am willing to forget, shelled, was . But after the first book in this series, they began to slip badly. I am two hundred pages in and nothing happens, but the priests and nobles from all over the world and God alone knows how to talk to many kingdoms and factions and theorize. Three of the names of the empire, I see that just happened, with the same letter began, for crying out loud. Too freaking players and non-places where memorable name which could not do anything mémorable.Le main figure of fun, but we can hardly see, except when it is about how little he can do without 1 tearfully) the awakening of the poor things, the use of technology, 2 blocks exacerbate) the situation, or 3) you take the time away from the boring things that are important. At this stage it can not be there, too, at all. conventional spies, inventor, historian and bodyguards could cover all the points complot.Sérieusement, the first principle of science fiction is not a story about how to create science fiction, but elements of science fiction is necessary to create the story. If Weber wants to really write Machiavelli, he should probably return to a historical (and probably cut under a pseudonym). His writing has probably never been better, but he needs to seriously step back and review what happened, tell stories and his ability to read his audience and all their own cible.J David Weber has never been published. I never dreamed would have to vote that I could not finish churn. Rating: 2 / 5

I do not know if they call this fourth novel in the series SafeHold, or the fourth installment of a great novel in progress. But if it should be classified, it is a book of more agréables.Pour, who came to the end, the series began with SafeHold destruction of the great majority of mankind as the most technologically advanced implacably hostile foreign human nicknamed “the G’Baba destroyed “all human beings inhabited world could find them. Through considerable effort, mankind has managed to find and hide a colony of the last G Baba, a deliberately low-tech world where the existence of aliens not suspect.Mais something went wrong. Some leaders of the colonies could to build in Archangel, and create a church with a view of the world church, dedicated to technological stagnation and correct operation of the majority. A colony, to remember that man was the star once was, and he comes back, One day a world of superstition and injustice. To copper kinetic bombardment system exists in the room, ready to destroy all “SafeHold” signs of progress technologique.Près eight and a half centuries later, “Nimue Alban” SafeHold awakened, or rather his “ICAP” awakened (PICA personality Integrated Cybernetic Avatar, a human Android, with more physical characteristics of the people and also a typical example of Weber terrible pun). His job was in the grip of the Church of God in attente.Au first three books of the fracture series, women Nimue albums “made man” Merlin Athrawes, Seijin a legendary warrior and reputation “that was a bodyguard for the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Charis. Charis was for destruction by those who the Church, which planned the Kingdom of the heresy regulated suspect. With the help of Merlin, they have survived and become an empire with his schismatic church. But the war continue.Les themes of this volume, the consolidation and strength is secret. In the league to strike Corisande a conquered province of the kingdom Charisian various loyalist Temple scope of heretics by the Church and Empire Charis Charisian while Charisians to remove them and prepare for the next test series of battles with the church and those who govern. In Zion, looks Inquisitor General Zhaspahr Clyntahn to any resistance against “the Church”, or eliminate more precisely, Zhaspahr Clyntahn and colleagues in the “Group of Four”, which runs the facility, while a minority of the trial reform of the Church institution from within. Meanwhile, prepare the church for the next round of war with Charis. And both parties are better at killing the opposition. It is in the nature of this series, the books can not be independent over the consequences of a series can be autonomous. If you skip any errors, this series until the end. Otherwise, I think you will find it is the best book in the series since the first because of the escalating war forces more to choose sides, and the actions of the “mother church” reveals the core totalitaire.Recommandé. The Kindle edition is a joke with the composition in India or China did, but certainly not by anyone who knows the language ext anglaise.Est believe that someone will read this book without reading the first three? Please be repeated in the next step, what happens before we all know that now Nimue. Excuse me, but I always thought was written well more than just say a number of events, but he should be a kind of character development. Voltage expression, so comeon DW. Rating: 3 / 5

I’m a fan of the books by David Weber, but not this. Sometimes a book or movie will begin with exceptional potential, but his legacy drift rate, and by the third or fourth, you wonder why you bothered. That’s to say I am saddened by what happened with the series SafeHold. It is Weber verses Rocky VI. “A Mighty Fortress is boring, and hiking, the extent of dissection and religious nuances of military logistics, but little action or plot. Most of the elements made the series worth reading are gone in the first place. Most of what remains is under the weight of the lead cast of hundreds, so that everyone will be buried by relatively brief appearances. (It ‘is no exaggeration – the list of characters at the end is 21 pages single-line name. What was the thought of Weber?) If you like sword fighting, look elsewhere. It is not. If you like guns and spiked sea battles, do not interfere. The first major naval battle takes place, by my calculations, on page 509 of 690th In this moment you have your eyes glazed over 10 dissertations page in the chemical properties of gunpowder. Or have you just given up, having read it word for word transcripts of the sermons of Archbishop Maikel. It is no exaggeration to say that I fell asleep at least twice to read what should probably be as “A Mighty Fortress long-range.” We know that Weber can do better. His Honor Harrington series is a good book about the band youngest. Weber’s Moon mutineers was a pleasure, as his collaboration with Eric Flint Series 1632nd SafeHold And the universe remains the most fascinating intersection between science and art of high fantasy that I ever came to this rencontrées.Il: Weber desperately needs an editor with the experience of standing up to a gate of the better authors. This book would be good if it was reduced by two thirds and, together with its predecessor (by heresies distressed) and its sequel. As it is, with few exceptions, read the fourth book SafeHold about as entertaining as forced under the threat of the speech 70 pages on John Galt Atlas Shrugged objectivist philosophy. Two time. The problem is, as Merlin Athrawes probably one too much love. Weber has created a fascinating principle and reduces his characters in a dangerous world. But on the way, it has come to SafeHold love so that he write more about the world – its politics and its theology and its method of production of powder began – and forgot his readers to buy his books because they simply want a good histoire .
